The most common residential project is a lot scrape which generally consists of demolishing all structures, foundations, flatwork up to approaches and removing any unshared fencing. Our proposals include hauling off and properly disposing of all resultant demolition debris and recyclable materials. Please note that lot scrapes exclude tree removal. Sometimes we will salvage appliances, fixtures, hardware, wood flooring, doors, bricks, roof material, and more if there is a market for it or if we feel it is something that we can donate. Should you be interested in salvaging items prior to demolition, please let us know so that we can plan ahead and provide an accurate estimate.
This is highly variable and difficult to give a straight answer for since each project is so different. Residential projects from the planning phase to completion can take anywhere from three weeks to several months. There are many moving parts including utility disconnects, permitting, our current schedule, weather, and more! Call for utility disconnects as soon as possible, this will take the longest. - Line Locates One of our team members calls in line locates for each project so that underground lines will be marked prior to demolition.
- Utility Disconnects Clients must coordinate utility disconnection per utility provider regulations but we will be happy to assist and walk you through the process as needed. We understand that this can be a time-consuming process so we have provided more in depth information and tips on disconnecting utilities. Should you have any further questions after reviewing the information provided below, do not hesitate to contact us.
- Customer Info & Tips for Scheduling Utility Disconnects Call local utility providers to close out accounts and request disconnects for demolition. This process must be done by the homeowner per utility company requirements.
- Electric meter and line from the power pole to the house or any other structures must be removed. The process from start to finish of closing the electric account, getting meters removed and lines disconnected takes anywhere between seven and fourteen business days but is subject to change.
- Gas meter must be removed. If the gas source is within 5 feet of any demolition activity the gas riser should be removed and gas capped at the main line. If you are unsure about the location of the gas or where demolition activity would be, please call our office for further clarification. Gas shutoff and capping can take anywhere from twenty one to sixty business days.
Commercial and Industrial Demolition Contractors
Commercial demolition consists of projects like tearing down office buildings, retail establishments, and other commercial structures. This usually means working very close to other buildings, which requires highly skilled demolition experts. Additionally, ommercial demolition contractors are generally responsible for obtaining demolition permits, calling in line locates as well as notifying state/local authorities.
